Rethinking De-Coupling and Romantic De-Escalation
The idea of ending or even changing a relationship dynamic with someone is terrifying. Mostly because of the fear of losing someone we have grown intimate with and because of the oppressive structures around us, like Compulsory Monogamy, leading us to view breaking up, or even a relationship taking on a different form, as the relationship failing. This idea keeps people in relationship dynamics that are no longer serving them, barring them from their own authentic needs and desires. Championing our own autonomy and our partner's(s) is crucial in welcoming shifts to our relationships if something is not working for us.
Our "Rethinking De-Coupling and Romantic De-Escalation Workshop" will address how to move through major relationship shifts with compassion, grace and self assuredness, as well as offer alternative ways of conceiving of relationships that offers a more expansive view on intimacy and commitment overall.
